everybody needs some friends. harlyn is typically kind and she's rather outgoing, but she doesn't make friends easily. it takes a lot for harlyn to full trust someone and she doesn't really do that towards anyone outside of the plague. maybe she's a little clique-y, but she just doesn't believe that people outside of the plague are ones she wants to hang with. most of harlyn's friends are guys because she doesn't quite fall into the typical "girly" description. she's not delicate and boy obsessed and covered in make up. and harlyn just finds it hard to relate to girls. very different mindsets.

haryln isn't out to find some guy to sweep her off her feet. she hasn't even had a serious boyfriend yet. rather, she casually flirts with some guys and a few have crushes on her, but she's almost completely unaware of their feelings for her (poor harlyn isn't the most observant girl in the world). besides, she's not really that "ideal date." harlyn is stubborn, tomboyish, and not at all delicate. guys find that more endearing than attractive. and she's kind of okay with platonic friendships. but hey, if someone wants to come and shake things up for her, i'm more than excited <3

it's easy for harlyn to make enemies. she speaks her mind without thinking about who's feelings might be hurt. and she's kind of brutally honest. don't expect her to sugar coat things. some people just don't mesh with her not-so-dreamy-eyed view of the world. also, harlyn can be very stubborn and easily gets into arguments. she doesn't really back down once she's in a fight and will argue until she turns blue in the face. besides, anyone outside of the plague is basically seen as an enemy until they prove otherwise. she may or may not be horribly paranoid distrustful.

HARLYN & SARAH

I have an idea for some serious enmity between these two. Sarah would have still been in training during the two years Harlyn was at Division and they're only a year apart in age. My plot would be that they were familiar with each other, though far from close. Sarah would have been well into the final stages of her upper-level cadet training at the age of 17 and probably interacted only rarely with the children who were there solely for experimentation, namely when she herself visited R&D to be tested on. I was thinking that, when the other kids planned the escape, someone told Sarah about it but she was obviously too loyal to go along with it. She tried to talk some of them out of it, perhaps Harlyn included, and when they didn't listen ended up eventually breaking down and telling the guards. So I was thinking the guards tried to foil the escape and ended up killing or capturing a number of the less fortunate would-be escapees. To Harlyn, this would make Sarah the traitor that got a bunch of them hurt by telling. To Sarah, this would make Harlyn and the others the traitors who left her to make the hard choice by running.

Fast forward four years to present day. Harlyn's head medic for the plague and Sarah's a dedicated field agent for Division. Somehow they come up against each other. Maybe Plague makes a strike against a Division asset of some sort, Harlyn's there to heal anyone who gets wounded in the melee and Sarah's there to do the wounding. Or maybe Sarah comes up against another Plague member in a different situation, shoots them but they get away, and tracks them to a place where they're having an emergency meeting with Harlyn to be healed. Anyway, something along those lines causes their paths to cross and, due to their history with the escape, adds a personal element to the ensuing conflict.

HARLYN&SARAH I love it! Harlyn would absolutely hate Sarah with a burning passion. Calling Sarah a traitor would be an understatement in Harlyn's book. It wouldn't have been quite as bad had Sarah just decided to butt out after not agreeing to the plan. Harlyn can understand loyalty. And as wrong as she thought Sarah was for her decision, Harlyn could respect it (though she still wouldn't stop pushing Sarah). But all those deaths because everyone was ratted out? Harlyn would blame every single one of them on Sarah because she was the one who had tattled.

I like them meeting up again because it's drama. Drama is good. Angst and anger and all that fun stuff <3

Fantastic! That's the kinda burning hatred I was looking for lol. Sarah's too much of a dedicated wannabe sociopath to get as fired up, but she's also been brainwashed into absolute loyalty to Division her entire life so would definitely harbor a serious degree of cold fury towards traitors. Plus, her lack of any social connections growing up would mean she might take it a bit more personally, interpreting the other children fleeing as abandonment on some level.

Anywho, lets get this plot rolling! The scenarios I had for a thread were: A) Plague attacks a Division establishment or operation; B) Division attacks a Plague establishment or operation; C) Harlyn and Sarah cross paths at random in the city. So yeah, wanna go with one of those in particular? Or have a different idea? I'm super open as to how and where this goes down. Also, I'd be happy to start the thread if you'd prefer.

HARLYN&SARAH I like either of the first two ideas. I think Harlyn would be super pissed with the first option because her Plague family is being attacked and then she'd see Sarah and probably explode. But I'm good with either. If you want to start, go ahead, but I can too if you'd like. Only thing, I'm away until July 16th so I won't be able to post until then <3
